Art, Image and Science at the KITP

Previous

The relationship between art and science is fundamental. Art and imagery are inherent in the creative process in science and integral to the communication of its discoveries. For theoretical physics, images can be powerful expressions of elegant mathematical equations that are otherwise inaccessible to many. Art can be invaluable in communicating leading edge science to the broadest possible audience, and creates opportunities to interact with local art organizations and museums, strengthening the Institute's community ties.

Through this initiative the KITP provides a dynamic crucible where non-scientists and scientists alike can experience and benefit from the vibrant relationships between art and science.

We invite you to learn about the current Artist in Residence, Jean-Pierre Hébert, and his many contributions to the KITP.
